The inspiration for this version comes from a lovely 19th century upholstery fabric I discovered on a sofa at the Village at Black
Floatwork coverlet in a 19th century Ontario pattern.
This is the second time I have woven this pattern as a coverlet. The first time was in 2009 and it was with commercially sourced wool. At that time, I really yearned to make my Ontario textile rep

As in most textiles that come off the loom, the fabric is checked for flaws. Because this pattern is quite busy, I missed a few areas with skipped threads when I was weaving. W

Such fun weaving this pretty cochineal pink and sumac grey goose eye blanket. This is the centre panel out of three. 
The gorgeous Coopworth wool from Amherst Island, Ontario has beautiful lustre and character and is perfect for this type of blanket.
