Upper Canada Weaving specializes in working with local farmers and spinning mills to create unique blankets that enhance the beauty of the fibre. We work with you to create custom blankets in original or period designs to suit your individual taste. A range of finishing options such as fringes and hems are available.

All blankets and throws can be made in specific sizes and colours to suit your needs.

 Reproduction Of A Vintage Plaid Car Blanket + Dog Coat

This blanket is made with Norbouillet wool from Peterborough County. The red and yellow fibres were dyed by Iron Cauldron using madder and goldenrod. The white and black are undyed wool.

 Two Panel Goose-eye Blanket

This traditional 19th century Ontario blanket was small batch dyed yellow using goldenrod and grey using sumac. The glossy Coopworth wool was sourced and processed in Ontario.

 Cottage Blanket in Indigo Blue and Goldenrod Yellow

This blanket was designed as the perfect blanket for the cottage. The blue like the water at the lake, the green like the pine trees and the yellow like the sun sets the tone for your relaxing stay at the cottage. The wool is luxuriously soft Norbouillet wool in cream white and undyed brown with indigo blue, goldenrod yellow and an indigo and goldenrod green. The dyed colours were small batch dyed by Iron Cauldron Colour Works.

 Diamond Texture Blanket

The diamond design in this undyed grey on grey blanket is achieved by the use of texture. It can be custom made as a blanket or throw blanket.

 19th Century Reproduction Pointed Twill and Check Blanket

The pattern for this blanket is found in extant 19th century blankets. This blanket is woven using singles as in the tradition of blanket weaving. This blanket pattern can be customized in a variety of small batch dyed or undyed yarns. The unevenness in the dyeing contributes to the hand made beauty of this blanket.

 Tartan Blankets

 Zig-Zag Throw Blanket

This luxuriously soft blanket is made from undyed Norbouillet Wool. The pattern is revealed by contrasting cream wool with two tones of brown which ombre in the middle of the blanket. The reversible blanket has zig-zag borders at both ends.

Ikat Stripe Throw Blanket

This cozy blanket is made from Canadian Arcott wool from a Huron County farm. The blanket has ikat stripes and a soft texture pattern.
